CANON WORLDS

As Rixixi are spacefaring creatures, they can be portrayed on almost any world - as such, use of Canon Worlds are only required for some activity types. Anything else is optional, have fun with it!

In the case of crossovers with other ARPGs/closed species with their own canon worlds (or just AUs in general) Rixixi can still be rolled for explorations even if they canonically take place in another world with a similar environment - as long as they match the listed environment for a canon world, it's fine! Just list the closest world when submitting your exploration. Make sure the other species/ARPG/group is okay with crossovers first!

SXRIIX

Sxriix (pronounced "shreese") is the Rixixi homeworld, and as such, has the highest population of Rixixi known so far.

Sxriix is made up primarily of arid and semi-arid climates, with sparse bodies of water surrounded by dry vegetation. The main exception above ground is found in the Quarantine Swamp, and below ground, a ring of conservationists have set up an artificial rainforest around the equator.

Specific Locations:

Where The Sky Touches Ground
Midworld Badlands
Quarantine Swamp
Cach Emix
Cach Torix
The Underworld
Nether Steps
Underworld Primal Camp
Southern Hot Springs
Dry Tundra/Mountains
Underground Forest

When portraying Sxriix, keep the following in mind:

  • Most of Sxriix is arid - deserts, salt flats, tundras, badlands are all very common.
  • If portraying the underground jungles, it is recommended to either show the rocky walls surrounding it, or something implying that the biome is artificially-made: sprinklers, monitors controlling moisture and the like, etc. This isn't mandatory, but is highly recommended if possible for exploration rolls.
  • Cities/towns/industrialized areas do exist; wood homes are almost unheard of outside of the Underground Forest. Polished stone is fairly common, marble and the like is usually used for expensive or important buildings.
  • Unnatural foliage colors are allowed, especially around the Quarantine swamp!
  • Sxriix orbits a single star and has multiple moons, seen in these two images. The black moon is called Uuner.
Little notes and fun facts not required for accurate portrayal, but could be fun to work with for storybuilding:
  • The term "Ocean" is nearly unheard of on Sxriix. "Cach", roughly translating to "lake", is used for most bodies of water that can't be considered a river or a swamp.
  • As Rixixi originated from Sxriix, there is no real reason an Ixi would be shunned solely for being an Ixi. Different locations have their own laws, however, and an Ixi may be shunned or jailed for repeat offenses. The Nether Steps notably has completely separate jurisdiction from most of the planet, and Primals have separate laws from Standard Rixixi as well. During especially difficult situations, leaders from these groups have come together to form a plan of attack.

EARTH

It's earth. The little blue dot home to all sorts of creatures, including humans.

Earth's Vital Signs by NASA / Public Domain

Most/all of you reading this should be fairly aware of what earth is, in fact, you should be living on it. If this is not the case, please send me a message telling me about your home planet.

When portraying Earth, keep the following in mind:

  • It's Earth! You're limited to anything found on Earth. Anything.
  • Specific locations don't have to be used, anything that could be considered possible on Earth can be rolled as such. Feel free to have your Rixixi visit the Eiffel Tower if that's what they really want, but it isn't mandatory!
  • Feel free to link references used, especially if the area of Earth referenced can appear extraordinary or even alien.
  • Earth orbits a single star and has one moon. They are both very nice.

Little notes and fun facts not required for accurate portrayal, but could be fun to work with for storybuilding:

  • Canonically, Rixixi have been able to visit Earth for years, and while humans by nature have varying opinions on things they aren't used to, a good chunk of humans are generally okay with Rixixi.
  • Nothing is stopping you from setting your personal canon in the past or future from this, or an AU altogether!

NSKANETIS

Nskanetis (pronounced "NISS-can-ET-iss") is a world with multiple native sapient species. Due to their already varied nature, most of Nskanetis was very accepting when Rixixi first showed up - entirely by accident on the Ixi's part.

Nskanetis, in contrast to Sxriix, is made up largely by water. Most climates in Nskanetis could be considered temperate or lush, which some Rixixi find overwhelming and confusing if they've just started traveling away from Sxriix. However, there are some dry climates that most Ixi find more comforting: wastelands at the centers of Vyldes and Aeli, and a tundra at the south end of Aulik.

Specific Locations:

Continent of Aeli:
Syranis
Liuchra
Lumina | Shrine - Thoriane
Rayauk | Shrine - T'akrin
Raktis
Aralen

Continent of Vyldes:
Aerthis
Laugk Tj'is | Shrine - Messenger | Shrine - Yssc
Va'el | Shrine - Anareizh

Continent of Kortha:
Auli'kuris | Fogshard Mine
Malkiz | Shrine - Phoenix
Octairia
Lukj'z
Axatha
Ayir

Continent of Aulik:
Zedrent
Deryl Irtes | Shrine - Olaichtyn

???
Shrine - Lucida

When portraying Nskanetis, keep the following in mind:

  • Nskanetis has a fairly wide variety of climates, but snow is uncommon anywhere other than southern Aulik (Deryl Irtes) and northern Aeli (Raktis).
  • Cities/towns/industrialized areas are very common worldwide, only notably absent on the surface of Va'el, and all of the Auli'Kuris crater - though, the crater does contain a massive mine, it just has no residential areas due to the unstable nature of the area.
  • Unnatural foliage colors are slightly uncommon but absolutely acceptable! Bioluminescent foliage is more common.
  • Nskanetis orbits a single star and has two moons.

Little notes and fun facts not required for accurate portrayal, but could be fun to work with for storybuilding:

  • The high concentration of magic and the radiation of the Fogshard Mine have heavy effects on Rixixi due to their sensitivity to 'radiation' and quick adaptation. Mutations on Nskanetis can be more chaotic than mutations common on other worlds.
  • Nskanetis is fairly accepting overall; Rixixi are typically not shunned, though depending on location, citizens of Nskanetis may be cautious of Rixixi at first.
  • Nskanetis is, for the most part, an anarchy.

THE CHASM

The Chasm is a rift between worlds, heavily irradiated and housing strange creatures and tunnels within.

The Chasm is a distorted, irradiated gateway between worlds, home to creatures that can survive the intense radiation within or poor souls who were trapped inside. It's an ever-shifting series of eldritch tunnels, and it's usually best to get in and get out with what you needed.

When portraying The Chasm, keep the following in mind:

  • The walls of The Chasm are almost always bright, unnatural colors, though they can take on other forms as well (such as mirror rooms).
  • There are very few "cities" or other signs of civilized life, though due to Mymbers traveling through and trapped people within, small outposts and villages may crop up. Actual large cities are almost unheard of.
  • Feel free to go absolutely wild with the designs of chasm denizens - they are typically heavily mutated and extremely alien. Have fun.
  • Any stars or moons are unknown, as The Chasm is an indoor setting, though spacelike structures can crop up within The Chasm.

Little notes and fun facts not required for accurate portrayal, but could be fun to work with for storybuilding:

  • The closer you get to a Chasm rift, generally the less distorted things are. The further you get into the Chasm, the weirder things get.
  • Gravity, physics, time, space, and so on can literally work however you like in the Chasm.

Common:
Flesh Slab, Leather, Chasm Brick, Colorpitch, Corecracker Lodestone, Root Vegetables, Teeth and Claws, Twine, Fish Meat, Shrimp, Poultry, Malachite, Everburn Coal, Aloe, Velvet Cactus

THE LEYLINES

HAZARDOUS LOCATION: POSSIBLE TEMPORARY CONDITIONS ON ENTRY
THERE IS AN UNCOMMON CHANCE OF GAINING THE CURSED TEMPORARY CONDITION WHEN ENTERING THE LEYLINE.
There are many items and statuses that block Cursed, such as the Ancient Coin, being a Ghost (or counting as one due to item use), the NPC Aihuu, and so on.
THE LEYLINE CANNOT BE EXPLORED WHEN CURSED. Something is watching.

The Leyline is found beneath the deep waters of Nskanetis. It gives the world of Nskanetis its magic, and as such, more magic is capable here than almost anywhere else. This is also the home of the dead - spirits travel through here on their way to find a final resting place. It is not safe for a mortal to stay for any longer than fifteen minutes, although it's been documented that some individuals have used tricks to slip by unharmed.

Like The Chasm, the Leyline is a rift between worlds - it is Leyline energy that causes the Guardians' shrines to spring up out of nowhere. The Leyline can be accessed from outside of Nskanetis by way of liminal spaces, but this is incredibly unpredictable.

When portraying The Leyline, keep the following in mind:

  • The Leyline is deep underwater, and lights within it are most commonly a bright blue. You're not restricted to shades of blue, but you are essentially in a void that's primarily blue.
  • There are cities, villages, and so on here! Not all ghosts move on. Structures relevant to Guardians may show up and often are made of alien igneous rock (including Liquid Diamond). It is, however, extremely rare to find a living being in the Leyline. If you do, working together to make it out safely may be a good idea.
  • Feel free to go absolutely wild with the designs of Leyline creatures - They are incredibly eldritch. One of the only constants is that leyline creatures do not have faces. A mask, a veil, or just a complete lack of a face is perfect.
  • Any stars or moons are technically irrelevant - the Leyline is attached to Nskanetis.

Little notes and fun facts not required for accurate portrayal, but could be fun to work with for storybuilding:

  • Living mortals who have "died" in some way are typically left alone by Leyline creatures - this includes mortals who have died and been revived medically, mortals with a legal or forged death certificate, mortals with walking corpse syndrome, and so on.
  • Realistically, you should not be able to breathe in the Leyline - not because it's underwater but because it's the realm of the dead. This has nothing to do with why mortals are in danger here, but it may be unsettling.
  • Something can have both Chasm and Leyline aspects (for instance, the Leyline Mymber).

Exploring Item Drops:

Common:
Corecracker Lodestone, Seascale Pebble, Twine, Herbs, Teeth and Claws, Fish Meat, Shrimp, Water, Sand, Stone, Seaweed, Wood, Shuck's Bushel

Uncommon:

THE COULOIR

HAZARDOUS LOCATION: GUARANTEED TEMPORARY CONDITIONS ON ENTRY
TO EXPLORE IN THE COULOIR, YOUR RIXIXI MUST BE DEPICTED WEARING PPE OR USE AN ITEM THAT NEGATES THIS REQUIREMENT, OTHERWISE THEY WILL GAIN 2 LEVELS OF RADIATION POISONING.
Here is a reference image of some types of PPE! You can make it look however you want, though, as long as it covers the vents and face.
THE COULOIR CANNOT BE EXPLORED WHEN AT OR ABOVE RADIATION POISONING LEVEL 5, AS IT IS NOT SAFE!

The Couloir is an old world. It is also known as the Desolated World due to its severely irradiated nature and the fact that it was destroyed by an apocalyptic event in the loss of one of its three suns (now two). The planet is primarily covered in a desert made of black sand, with a mountain range and black forest splitting the planet down the center. Domed cities are scattered around the desert in small quantities, their numbers diminished. No cities remain around the forested zone - massive gigafauna and megafauna live there, and are immensely destructive.

The Couloir is primarily accessible through hard-to-access rifts in the Chasm, but can be found through space travel. The planet was commonly passed over in the past due to looking dead and bleak, and so its coordinates were rarely known until recently.

When portraying The Couloir, keep the following in mind:

  • The desert in the Couloir is black, with a somewhat brown tint. The forest's trees are also black, with myriad off-black tints, and from above the forest looks like an oilslick as a result.
  • The Couloir only has surface water at its poles. Other water is found strictly underground.
  • Cities are scattered few and far between, and there are ruins of abandoned cities in both the desert and the forest. There are no active cities left in the forest. Active cities will have a protective green dome to keep out radiation.
  • All foliage is black (possibly tinted off-black in some way), whether in the desert or the forest. This is to adapt to the multiple suns. Most 'fauna' in the Couloir are actually plant life capable of motion, and therefore they take on similar coloration to the nonmoving plant life. The rest of the fauna tend to be small and heavily adapted to extreme conditions.
  • The sky is green, and there are two suns - one red and one blue. The Couloir does not have satellites.

Little notes and fun facts not required for accurate portrayal, but could be fun to work with for storybuilding:

  • The primary sapient species in the Couloir are the Coulers. Most are fairly welcoming of outsiders and want to make sure that new arrivals stay safe, so will likely lead someone to a city if possible.
  • There are Rixixi in the Couloir - those who became lost in the Chasm have a small chance of winding up here. Rixixi without heavy mutation and/or irradiation are considered abnormal here.
  • Unfortunately, there isn't really a canon reason why a Rixixi would exist in the Couloir before the disaster, as Rixixi didn't have space travel then, and the Chasm didn't exist for long-range travel either.

Common:
Twine, Sand, Berries, Slab of Raw Meat, Flesh Slab, Root Vegetables, Aloe, Velvet Cactus, Iron, Glass, Mushroom, Hematite, Malachite, Stone, Black Fruit, Black Root, Plant Fiber
