MECHANIX CHIPS

To create a Mechanix, along with a Base and a Pelt, you'll need a Chip. This chip will give your Mechanix an initial, innate skill as well as a skill they'll have when equipped as a companion! As they level up, Mechanix can add more chips to get more skills.

Chips can be obtained via standard Crating, Scientific Analysis at the Contraband Enforcement Station, and by 'Breeding' Mechanix to combine their data into a new chip.

ADDING CHIPS TO THE IMPORT

If you're not quite sure how to add chips to the import when putting your Mechanix in for approvals, here's some information:

Skills:
  • Chips: Add the main skill here, including its name and any flavor text.

Companion Skill: Add the companion skill here, starting with "When in companion mode, equips the following to the Companion form:". (If your Mechanix has more than one chip, you may have more than one Companion Skill to choose from. You can change these at any time at Import Updates and Transfers.

Using Medix (see Breeding-Exclusive) as an example, this would look like:

Skills:
  • Chips: Medix: Named for the robots that Mechanix were based on - originally they were used exclusively as medical aides.
In combat, the Medix can heal themself or an ally for 25% of their total HP. (use in combat as Skill: Medix)
If depicted in a loot-dropping activity with a Rad Sick Rixixi, the Medix prevents items from being lost due to Rad Sickness such as Unsteady, and has an 80% chance of nullifying any other roll-altering effect of Rad Sickness.
Grants all Mechanix-related Temporary Condition resistances to any other Rixixi depicted in a loot-dropping activity with this Medix.

Companion Skill: When in companion mode, equips the following to the Companion form: Chip: Medix: In combat: Heal for 25% of this Rixixi's HP. Out of combat: Doubles the Medix's roll. Grants all Mechanix-related Temporary Condition resistances to this Rixixi. This companion does not count against companion limits.

If you're still confused, feel free to just add the name of the skill under Chips and Companion Skill and we'll copy it down for you!

CHIPS - CRAFTING

Mechanix chips obtained via standard Crafting - typically on par with other craftable items.

If the other Ixi has more than one roll-affecting Rad Sickness, there is a 50% chance that those will be nullified for the roll.
When in companion mode, equips the following to the Companion form: Chip: Rad Pal: This companion has 30% chance of nullifying all roll-altering Rad Sicknesses to the companion Rixixi.

Biomechanix

Biomechanix: Derived from code found in the Manticore Ring's booths - code originally designed to monitor specimens as they fused.

This companion skill is equipped even if a different companion skill is chosen (to make sure both the Ixi and Mechanix are listed as able to fuse) and is technically the only way for a Mechanix to have two active companion skills.

*A note: A base does not have to be used for the alternate form, it can be drawn off-base.
Optional bases: Standard | Primal | Domestic SOON

Ghost

Ghost: Please stop touching the haunted chip. Please. This can only end strangely.
Ghost Mechanix have an unusual, supernatural glitch in their system, and so they set off the same sort of reactions that entities would have when seeing a Ghost Rixixi. Ghost Mechanix count as Ghosts in any situations where this would alter dialogue. Ghost Mechanix also have translucent skins - markings can appear on them, they're just transparent and show the robot base underneath. Ghost Mechanix do not have any restrictions "breeding" with other Mechanix, however.
When in companion mode, equips the following to the Companion form: Chip: Ghost: The Rixixi with this companion will count as a Ghost in any situations where this would alter dialogue - this does not add the +Ghost gene, the Rixixi is essentially able to see ghosts and is respected by ghosts!
