LEVELING UP

If your Rixixi is ready to level up, you'll need to comment on this deviantArt journal with the following form:

Rixixi leveling up: [Link to Rixixi's import]
Current EXP at time of submission:
Link to tracker:

A tracker should contain a link to the Rixixi's masterlist entry, the current EXP, and the art of the Ixi, with links back to the original pieces and EXP calculations written out! As long as you have those three things, you can format it however you want, and store it wherever you like - Google Docs, a personal site, sta.sh, a journal, whatever works best for you.

EXP can be obtained via various activities, with three different EXP types - Story Mode, Adventure Mode, and Training Mode.

Story Mode

Story Mode refers to lore-based quests. Each has its own set EXP payout. The Main Plot is required to progress through the levels, others are optional. Story Mode generally has the highest EXP payout of all types - ranging from 200-2500 - as a reward for progressing.

Read more about the Story Mode chapters here!

You can also obtain Training Mode Bonus EXP if your piece exceeds minimum requirements. Training Mode Bonus EXP goes by Training Mode's point calculations - it's just a little bonus if you have something in your piece that we didn't require! Some examples of Training Mode Bonus EXP (this is not a complete list):

  • +5 for Shading (shading is never required)
  • +5 for Every +100 words - whether over the minimum requirements of a lit piece or accompanying an image.
  • +5 for depicting a companion your Ixi owns.

Adventure Mode

Adventure Mode EXP is gained through loot-dropping activities throughout the group. They typically give less EXP than Story Mode, with a base of 50 and bonuses at +50 and +25, but still more EXP than Training Mode.

"Multiplayer" specifically refers to multiple Ixi owned by multiple people. To gain the Multiplayer bonus, one player may not own all of the Ixi depicted. A starter may also be used instead of another user's Ixi.
Starters grant both Multiplayer and NPC-Accompanied bonuses. Non-Rixixi NPCs grant NPC-Accompanied, but not Multiplayer, but they may grant Canon Creature if they are an applicable species in the Bestiary.

Explorations, Hunting, and Mining

Base: 50 EXP
Eagle Eye (3-4 items retrieved - Main roll only, see below): +50 EXP* Multiplayer (2+ Ixi, at least one must be owned by another player): +50 EXP
NPC-Accompanied (Included a Starter or NPC): +25 EXP
Canon Creature (Included a non-Rixixi canon creature, see Bestiary): +25 EXP

*Eagle Eye does not count seasonal returns, as they are rolled separately from the main rolls. Eagle Eye DOES count if it was set off by an ability that guarantees it, such as Yvanon's Party Favored.

For the NPC-Accompanied bonus in hunting, the NPC/starter does not have to be participating, they can be spectating.

Combat

Base: 50 EXP
Eagle Eye (At least one Critical Hit): +50 EXP
Multiplayer (2+ Ixi, at least one must be owned by another player): +50 EXP
NPC-Accompanied (Included a Starter or NPC): +25 EXP
Canon Creature (Included a non-Rixixi canon creature, see Bestiary): +25 EXP
For the NPC-Accompanied bonus, the NPC/starter does not have to be fighting, they can be spectating.

Events and Barters

Includes All Events, Art Barters, and Tier 1 Faction Prompts

Base: 50 EXP Eagle Eye (Rare Item or Starter Rolled): +50 EXP Multiplayer (2+ Ixi, at least one must be owned by another player): +50 EXP NPC-Accompanied (Included a Starter or NPC): +25 EXP Canon Creature (Included a non-Rixixi canon creature, see Bestiary): +25 EXP

Training Mode

Training Mode refers to miscellaneous art of your Rixixi. It has a lower payout than the previous methods, and serves more as a small boost as a reward for being active.

Headshot: 5 base EXP
Fullbody (60% or more showing): 10 base EXP
Color: +5 EXP
Shading: +5 EXP
Literature: +5 EXP for every 100 words. (All bonuses can apply to literature as well as art if enough focus is given to the subject of the bonus - brief mentions for a few words will not count.)

Bonuses

These apply to most subtypes, including Literature, 3D Models and Crafts, and Animations.

Background: +5 EXP
Multiplayer (2+ Ixi, at least one must be owned by another player): +5 EXP
NPC-Accompanied (Included a Starter or NPC): +5 EXP
ARPG Crossover (Including another ARPG species): +5 EXP
Canon Creature (Included a non-Rixixi canon creature, see Bestiary): +5 EXP
Equipped Companion: (Included a companion equipped to the Rixixi in the piece) +5 EXP

When dealing with bases:

Using premade bases and multi-use YCHs can still net points, but only for the pieces that are unique to your image. If you're using a base with premade lineart that you can color, you may only claim the color EXP - if you shaded the image, you may claim shading EXP. If you added a background, you can claim Background EXP, and so on.

This extends to things like a comic where a background is reused in multiple panels - the background EXP can only be claimed in the first panel it was used in.

Here's a link to an example over on B-NOMALY (we use the same rules for this on both Chasm-Connected groups!) for a visual - the Steele Facesprites, while edited in lineart, are still too similar to count for tokens over in B-NOMALY.

3D Model/3D Craft Bonus

Listed separately because there are a few different types!

All bonuses can apply to 3D pieces. Backgrounds can be naturally found/photographed or sculpted/created in part or full yourself, either works!

Static (Plushies, Clay Figurines, etc.) +15 EXP: A single Static 3D piece can be reposed multiple times/pictured in a turnaround for extra EXP, but these must all be compiled into one image. If poses are too similar, they may not count for EXP.
Poseable (Dolls, Puppets, etc.) +10 EXP: A single Poseable 3D piece can be reposed multiple times and count for EXP in new images, but each pose in each subsequent image must appear unique. Decreased EXP count is not a penalty; it is due to the likelihood that a Poseable will have more uses.
3D Model (Digital 3D Models, etc) +5 EXP: Can be used indefinitely, but poses must appear unique. Decreased EXP count is not a penalty; it is due to the fact that a 3D Model's uses do not expire.

3D pieces can be used in Activities and Story Mode - a Static piece can be used only once (but in the case of story mode, can be used in all responses to a single chapter as long as the pose looks suitably unique in each one), but a Poseable and 3D Model can be used multiple times.

Animation Bonus

Listed separately because there are a few different types!

All bonuses can apply to animations.

Slideshow +5 EXP: Single frames arranged into a slideshow. While not actively animated, the act of arranging these take more time than simply posting them separately, and so they count for extra points. If significant changes appear between certain slides, the base, background, or other relevant points can be recounted - it may help EXP counters if the still frames are shown in a sta.sh in this case - refer to "When dealing with bases" for what a significant change would be.
Simple +10 EXP: Blinking, head bobbing, glow animations, and so on - things that take a few frames. Due to the nature of this type of animation, it is unlikely that significant changes can appear between frames to recount the base points, however, if the color or background changes significantly, please feel free to show the individual still frames in sta.sh files and count them as their own points. Refer to "When dealing with bases" for what a significant change would be.
Complex +35 EXP: Walk cycles, large motions, turnarounds, anything taking more than a few simple frames. If significant changes appear between certain slides, please feel free to show those slides as a sta.sh file and count those as their own points. Refer to "When dealing with bases" for what a significant change would be.
