WELCOME TO THE BLACK MARKET

Corona says:

Well now, have you found something curious? I might be able to show you how to use it, or even find you one of my many contacts to craft with it for you... I'm not sure I'd recommend crafting with it yourself, or taking it to a less experienced crafter. Safety first, dear.

You do not need to own a Streetwise Ixi to craft or shop here, but be aware that the following items used in the trades here will only appear to Streetwise Rixixi (or via using an NPC with the ability Streetwise Companion in a relevant activity roll):

(Unrefined Liquid Diamond, Death's Dust, B-NOMALY Greymatter Sample, Philosophic Mercury, Inert Parasite, Mymber Heart, Sxriix'n Silvervine)

Tier 1: Refining

The crafters of the black market and their services are open to you. Many Tier 1 items alter the genetics or mutations of a Rixixi.

To refine items, use this prompt!

Charged Liquid Diamond Shard

One of the most common forms of refining Liquid Diamond on Sxriix, Liquid Diamond can be refined into an alternate to Fogshard with minimal radiation needed. In its purest grade, Charged Liquid Diamond, or "CLD", can take no radiation to form and charge and, as such, gives off no radiation. These are considered both safer for beings with radiation sensitivities and, if the materials are provided to the crafter, sometimes cheaper to produce. Due to the inner liquid being infused into the gem itself during the charging process, CLD is considered one of the safest and most benign uses of Liquid Diamond. Individuals allergic to Liquid Diamond report minor allergic reactions at most when interacting with CLD, typically a tingling in the skin that touches it and a slight reddening of the area, but even in low-grade CLD, fatal or highly dangerous allergic reactions have never been reported.

Ingredients: Unrefined Liquid Diamond x1, Scarification Kit x1, Science Kit x2

Effects: Can be used on an undesigned geno to add ANY common or uncommon marking or mutation! Genes added with Liquid Diamond Shards will always be heterozygous (non-dominant)!

Death-Charged Fogshard

Dig the grave deeper next time - or don't, depending on what you're trying to do.

What happens when fogshards and similar crystals are buried with the dead. Rumored to have interesting properties - the stuff of urban legend, mostly.

Ingredients: Mymber Heart x1, B-NOMALY Greymatter Sample x1, Any Fogshard x1

Effects:Permanently cures any one Radiation Sickness on any one Rixixi, unless the Radiation Sickness specifically states it cannot be removed.
Decreases every stat by 10. Cannot be used if any stat is equal to or less than 20.

Fridge Parasite

The good news is that this parasite is generally perfectly content to live in your gut and sustain itself on what you eat, but not enough to leave you malnourished - it generally wants to keep its host heathy so it has somewhere safe to stay in the long run. Hosts often complain of an increased appetite as a result, especially during the transformation.

Yeah, there's also that, these little guys cause their host to turn into a ravening beast with many mouths. Typically referred to as "fridge werewolves" due to the transformation and the generally fluffy result thereof, hosts often report this as "inconvenient but exciting", and the AexLabs in Vyldes - a site authorized for legitimate research on these critters - unfortunately have their supply of Fridge Parasites stolen by people looking for an adrenaline rush or to prank someone else. Unfortunately, this only increased its contraband status, and most Fridge Parasites have an inborn tracking mechanism - most lab technicians will know if you have a parasite.

The reason these little guys are so hungry is that they reproduce asexually, budding off when they've consumed enough. The transformed form exists mainly to consume more things faster, but is also used by hosts to generally run around like a wild animal and have a good time.

The main downside, aside from being easily detectable as a user of contraband, is that you have to swallow the parasite to become a Fridge Werewolf. Whole. Good luck not thinking about its little eyes. Bottoms up.

Ingredients: Inert Parasite x1, Any edible* item x5, Teeth and Claws x2
*An edible item in this case is defined as any item that a Rixixi can eat to utilize, whether they add a temporary or permanent boon, not including festival currency.

Effects: Can be used on an uploaded Rixixi to add a Fridge Werewolf alternate form and the Fridge Werewolf skill.
Reference for alternate form must be provided when item is applied. An optional base can be used.
OPTIONALLY, can additionally add the non-passable mutation Misplaced Maws (+MawPl) to the Rixixi.
Skill: Fridge Werewolf: Can appear in Fridge Werewolf alternate form for EXP and rewards. Consuming 5 food items in one comment has a 25% chance of spawning an Inert Parasite item. (Can stack if more than 5 items are used in one commment, can only spawn up to 3 Inert Parasites/week per Fridge Werewolf)

Mutinjection

A mutagenic injection created from the greymatter of B-NOMALIES, assorted hard-to-pronounce chemicals, and probably something with medical benefit, maybe. Guys, greymatter is brains. It's irradiated mutant B-NOMALY brains. What are you doing. Why are you doing this? This is like, the definition of mad science.

We at magmatixi would like to remind you not to use any suspicious needles on yourself, your animals, your friends, your dragoncats, this is incredibly unhygienic, nothing about this is safe. Do not try this at home???

Ingredients: B-NOMALY Greymatter Sample x1, Water x1, Science Kit x2

Effects:Can be used on an uploaded rixixi to add ANY common marking or mutation, with the penalty that the Ixi will obtain ONE Stage 1 Radiation Sickness effect! Genes added with Mutinjection will always be heterozygous (non-dominant)!
Alternately, can be used on an uploaded rixixi to add ANY uncommon marking or mutation, with the penalty that the Ixi will obtain ONE Stage 2 Radiation Sickness effect! Genes added with Mutinjection will always be heterozygous (non-dominant)!
Multiple Mutinjections can be used on the same Rixixi, but one Ixi can only obtain up to two Radiation Sickness effects through Mutinjections.

Mymber's Heart Valve

Mymber valves only recently started being used in other worlds' medicine but have quickly found a home in it. The heart of a Mymber, when removed from its body - even if the body was not alive, so long as the death was recent - seals its major arteries off into tendrils with a thick, rubbery coating of colorpitch. This preserves many functions of the heart and allows for transplantation in cases where the heart was taken well care of - even xenotransplantation and xenografting.

One has to wonder why a Mymber's heart would seal itself off once removed, however - it seems to have no function in keeping the Mymber alive.

Ingredients: Mymber Heart x1, Scarification Kit x1, Science Kit x2

Effects: Can be equipped to one Rixixi. When equipped, adds the following special ability, if unequipped, however, the item becomes useless.
Special Ability: Mymber Valve Transplant: Nullifies one chosen Radiation Sickness in a Rad Sick Ixi. If a Mymber is equipped, that Mymber cannot nullify a second Rad Sickness.
In both non-Rad Sick and Rad Sick Ixi, has a 30% chance of temporarily nullifying Radiation Sickness effects in other Ixi in certain situations: in Breeding, this Ixi has a 30% chance to deactivate Radiation Sicknesses that give breeding debuffs (Infertility, Recessive, Fever Dreamer, etc) in the other partner. In activities, if depicted with another Ixi that happens to have a Rad Sickness that can impact their roll, there is a 30% chance this Ixi can nullify their Rad Sick traveling companion's ailment for that roll.

Philosopher's Stone

Having been properly tested and refined, the Philosopher's Stone is finally ready for use on live subjects. Caution is still wise to use - mainly to prevent mercury poisoning due to the stone's makeup - but also as pushing its alchemic properties too hard have been reported to cause unexpected random mutations in the subject.

Ingredients: Philosophic Mercury x1, Any Gemstone x5, Science Kit x1

Effects: Can be used on an undesigned geno OR uploaded Rixixi to REMOVE one Marking or Mutation and then ADD that Marking or Mutation to a different undesigned geno OR uploaded Rixixi! Markings will retain dominant/non-dominant status across transfer. All uploaded Rixixi must have image updates ready at time of application.
Transferring the Chimera mutation will transfer one entire Chimera side rather than rerolling it - please choose which side to transfer if transferring Chimera.
However, this has a 30% chance of adding one "Live Transmutation" gene to the Rixixi receiving the transferred gene. These include:
Archangel - Centaur - Cerberus - Chimera - 4 Eyes - Many Eyes - Misplaced Eyes - Multi Tail - Rows - Sleipnir - Split Ears - Triple Maw

OR

Can be used on an undesigned geno OR uploaded Rixixi with Radiation Sickness to swap ONE Radiation Sickness effect to ANOTHER effect in the same Stage! The player may choose the new effect.
If swapping to the Contagion type, a secondary Radiation Sickness effect will still be added, and will be randomized - the secondary Radiation Sickness effect cannot be chosen by the user.
As swapping Contagion on and off can eventually grant a Rixixi every Radiation Sickness, a note: if a Rixixi has every other available Radiation Sickness, Contagion will no longer add another Radiation Sickness if added.
Chasmhome cannot be selected due to it being restricted to Fond Memories: The Chasm and Euphoria only.
Fever Coat cannot be selected due to it being restricted to breeding results from parents with Fever Dreamer Radiation Sickness.
Fever Dreamer(+/++) can only be swapped to if the original Radiation Sickness was the result of Contagion (please provide proof!)

Philosophic Mercury Knife

A specialized ritual knife, used to take a bit extra from the victim and use it for oneself.

Ingredients: Philosophic Mercury x1, Herbs x5, Stone x1, Leather x2

Effects: If used at the Phoenix Shrine, can be used to take one gene from the Rixixi or Geno being used as a sacrifice. This knife will break on use, and the specified gene will be stored in a Philosopher's Broken Shard.
Has a 75% chance of deceasing an uploaded Rixixi.

Silvervine Pipe

Much like Silvervine itself, this is only contraband in some locations, and does count under the Medical-Only law in others. (Not legal in No Smoking sections of public places.)

The specific blend used in most Silvervine Pipes is reported to cause a 'relaxing, yet rejuvenating' feeling.

Ingredients: Sxriix'n Silvervine x1, Stone x5, Everburn Coal x2

Effects:Has 5 uses when crafted.
Each use adds 50 points in permanent stats to an Ixi semi-randomly. 10 points are randomly assigned to a stat at a time - at the end, they can wind up assigned 10 to each stat, 50 to one stat, or anything in between.
Radiation Sickness does apply. This can set off Fridge Werewolves (the 10 points being applied 5 times will be considered 5 applications of an "edible item"). Cannot be used on the same Rixixi multiple times on the same day.

Witch's Brew Tea

A blend of rare herbs can be mixed with dried Death's Dust to control how its effect takes hold of an individual, creating an immense soothing effect and often a minor out of body experience - for lack of a better term, a really soothing good trip.

Traditionally, the mixture is placed in a golden cup that has been imbued with an ancient curse - such a thing (and such an advanced user of a nontraditional magic on Sxriix) is hard to find, and as such, the resulting Witch's Brew Tea has to be enjoyed at the site that it is made, but when brewed and appreciated correctly, the imbibing Rixixi may find themself able to apply the Death's Dust's ability of suggestion to others telepathically.

Ingredients: Death's Dust x1, Water x1, Herbs x1, Spices x1

Effects:Can be equipped to one Rixixi. When equipped, adds the following special ability, if unequipped, however, the item becomes useless.
Special Ability: Forgive and Forget: The Ixi with this ability may reroll one exploration, hunting, mining, or combat roll.

  • If rerolling a combat roll (an attack, heal, etc), reply to the combat roll stating that you're using your Witch's Brew Tea. It will be removed from your inventory, and your combat turn will be rerolled.
  • If rerolling the items of any roll, including combat, use claims. Add all items from the original roll into Add-Ons, link to the original roll, and state that you're using Forgive and Forget. You may choose to reroll just the quantity of the items without rerolling the items themselves or the items overall (which will also reroll the quantity and seasonal items) - please specify this as well!

Tier 2: Alchemy and Herbalism

It's mostly poison.
Tier 2 items typically add a skill tree to the Rixixi they're applied to, along with a secondary effect. Some are just a bit stranger.

To craft items, use this prompt!

Eternal Life Gem

This is literally necromancy with a fancy name.

Ingredients: Death-Charged Fogshard x1, Philosopher's Stone x1

Effects: Revives a deceased Rixixi (Uploaded or Geno), returning them to play.
Adds the Ghost (+Ghost) Nonpassable Mutation to an uploaded Rixixi or Geno.
Ghost cannot be swapped off or removed from a Rixixi.
The Eternal Life Gem can turn a living Rixixi directly into a Ghost.

Forged Death Certificate

Kaye typically did not deal with the Black Market, but understood why someone would want to disappear, and her abilities made that easy.

The beings of the Leyline typically did not deal with the living, but these living had papers saying they were legally dead. They could work with that.

Ingredients: Death-Charged Fogshard x1, Paper x1, Ink x3

Effects: When equipped to a living Rixixi, treats that Rixixi as a Ghost in all ways except for genetics.

Horseman Heart

Not all Horseman hearts look like this due to their high variation in appearance, but the Cluster of Orbs formation is not uncommon. Most Chasm Horseman do have several hearts, regardless of their actual shape.

Legend has it that getting your hand on a Horseman's heart grants you the power of that Horseman. Some Rixixi have taken up hunting the legendary creatures in an attempt to prove this myth true or not, or just to sell the hearts on market.

Ingredients: Mymber Heart x1, Philosophic Mercury x1, Flesh Slab x20, Slab of Raw Meat x20, Colorpitch x10

Effects: Can be used on an uploaded Rixixi to add a Chasm Horseman alternate form and the Horseman Host skill. The Horseman form should be an uploaded import on Chasmho.me.
Skill: Horseman Host: Any negative effects from Radiation Sickness are inverted. If they cannot be inverted, they simply will not trigger. Does not effect Chasmhome or any Coat radiation sicknesses.

Hypnotic Disguise

A bag with a disguise and forgery kit - likely a bit bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside, though whether that's an optical illusion or actual magic is left to be discovered. Contains enough for the holder to slip away somewhere quiet and become someone else.

The real trick, however, is the spraybottle of hypnotic Death's Dust refined with a chemical blend - including B-NOMALY brain matter - that creates an aura around the user that gently causes surrounding beings to lose focus - effectively an aura of disinterest.

Ingredients: Death's Dust x1, B-NOMALY Greymatter Sample x1, Science Kit x1, Leather x5

Effects: Adds the ability to access the Espionage skill tree to the Rixixi.
In addition, optionally, the Rixixi may have apparel and accessories added to them as if they had up to 1 Accessory and 1 Apparel used on them, OR add a detailed, large aura behind the Rixixi (similar to Winter Radiation, rather than the free halo effect that can be added to any Rixixi)

Poison Blade

A common use for Liquid Diamond when in the hands of mercenaries and assassins and the like, this specific model has been steeped in an external poison made of deadly plants, a chemical blend, and the eponymous liquid extracted from the ore itself.

It must be wielded with care, as in a careless hand, it is possible to shatter the blade - though some do this intentionally if they have the funds or materials to get a replacement, spilling the internal liquid contents of the blade into the wound of an opponent.

Ingredients: Unrefined Liquid Diamond x1, Death's Dust x1, Iron x5, Monx'tel x5

Effects: Adds the ability to access the Liquid Diamond Assassin skill tree to the Rixixi.
In addition, grants the Rixixi the following skill:
Special Ability: Brutal Rending. The Ixi holding this blade will always roll more than one item in Hunting and Combat [unless affected by radiation sickness]!

Void Poison

Also known as the King Killer, the Black Hole Broth, the Stewmaker, or the Cosmic Skin-Reaver, Void Poison is a renowned poison for being incredibly caustic to organic material. It can melt through your flesh, leaving deep scars in small doses, gouging off limbs when slathered on, eating one from the inside out when swallowed, and so on. If organic material is submerged in it, it will be rendered into nothing, hence some of its more creative nicknames. Most inorganic materials, however, are immune to its effects, and it can be transported in many a container, for better or for worse. Despite its bright, flamboyant appearance, it can be reworked into a tasteless, white paste, making it favored for violent, showy assassinations at dinners. Be aware, this is not a helpful item. The kindest it can do is evenly cauterize a wound that was already slated for amputation. This is searing, sucking poison, and it has been designed over the years to not leave a trace.

Ingredients: Unrefined Liquid Diamond x1, B-NOMALY Greymatter Sample x1, Science Kit x5

Effects: Adds the ability to access the Regicide skill tree to the Rixixi.
In addition, optionally, the Rixixi may have scars and body modifications added to them as if they had up to 1 Scarification Kit and 1 Mutation Station used on them, OR amputate 1 limb/the tail.
