RIXIXI SUBSPECIES

Rixixi have several subspecies - you can read about their unique anatomy and culture at Species Info, but this page is dedicated to their genetics.

Each subspecies other than Standard has genetics inherent to their species - these won't appear in their genocode, but have a chance of passing naturally when bred to other subspecies. Additionally, some - but not all - subspecies can pass genes at random regardless of whether they have the gene or not, and these can pass to their own subspecies as well - for instance, Domestics can pass any color mutation, and Funeraries can pass Ghost.

BREEDING WITH SUBSPECIES

There are three different ways to breed for a specific subspecies! The specific methods for Combo Mutation breeding will be listed in their tab, as that can differ, but the basic idea is as follows:

  • Subspecies x Same Subspecies:
    100% Subspecies

  • Subspecies x Different Subspecies/Standard:
    50% Chance of Either

  • Combo Mutation-Style Breeding:

Method 1: If a Rixixi has 5 or more mutations in one category (Color, Combat, Volatile, RXX-NOMALY), this has a 20% chance to combine (much like combination mutations) and cause a subspecies to appear in a breeding without that subspecies.

Method 2: Some subspecies appear when a specific combination of mutations appears instead of any 5 in a category - usually this requires fewer mutations to activate due to being specific.

OTHER METHODS OF OBTAINING SUBSPECIES

Semi-Customs can be directly made as Subspecies.

Some Supercharged Fogshards can alter the subspecies of a Rixixi:

  • Supercharged Fogshard - Swap can change the subspecies of the Rixixi to the subspecies of one of their parents. It can only be used on an unuploaded geno.
  • Supercharged Fogshard - Alchemy can trade subspecies between two Ixi. Both Ixi will change their subspecies. This can be used on an uploaded Ixi or an unuploaded geno.

Illusionate-Glass Cores add an alternate form, typically of a different subspecies.

STANDARD RIXIXI

Your average modern Sxriix'n. As this is the standard Rixixi, this tab effectively serves as a template.

Inherent Genes

These will not show in the Rixixi's genotype, and can pass to other subspecies when breeding. They cannot pass to the same subspecies, as all members of the same subspecies inherently have it.

  • None.

Extra Genetics

These genes can pass at random, regardless of if the Rixixi actually has them or not. They can pass to any subspecies, including the Rixixi's own subspecies.

  • None.

Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding Style

  • Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding cannot actually be performed for Standards.

PRIMAL RIXIXI

An ancient subspecies of Rixixi, evolved separately from the modern Standard subspecies while hidden away from the world. Massive and bulky.

Additional notes on designing Primals

  • A Primal's wings can have their opacity altered, as long as they are visible.

Inherent Genes

These will not show in the Rixixi's genotype, and can pass to other subspecies when breeding. They cannot pass to the same subspecies, as all members of the same subspecies inherently have it.

  • Drakespines (+Drake)
  • Horns (+Hrn)
  • Tail Spike (+Tspi)
  • Wide Vents (+Wvent)
  • Wings (+Wing)

Extra Genetics

These genes can pass at random, regardless of if the Rixixi actually has them or not. They can pass to any subspecies, including the Rixixi's own subspecies.

  • None.

Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding Style

  • Method 1: If a Rixixi has 5 or more mutations in the Combat category, this has a 20% chance to combine and cause a Primal to appear in a breeding without that subspecies.

DOMESTIC RIXIXI

A subspecies that went through a program to look more feline and harmless to blend in on Earth. Small and cute.

Inherent Genes

These will not show in the Rixixi's genotype, and can pass to other subspecies when breeding. They cannot pass to the same subspecies, as all members of the same subspecies inherently have it.

  • Tabby (Considered a Free Mark - optional)
  • Extra Genetics

These genes can pass at random, regardless of if the Rixixi actually has them or not. They can pass to any subspecies, including the Rixixi's own subspecies.

    • Can pass up to two randomly selected color muations (one 50% chance roll and one 30% chance roll)

    Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding Style

    • Method 1: If a Rixixi has 5 or more mutations in the Color category, this has a 20% chance to combine and cause a Domestic to appear in a breeding without that subspecies.

FUNERARY RIXIXI

Rixixi adapted to the Leyline, having lost their faces and become supernatural beings.

Additional notes on designing Funeraries

  • A Funerary's default blood color is blue - any shade of blue is fine!
  • The mask layer is optional. It can be freely edited, or designed from scratch. Funeraries essentially have one free accessory locked to the face.
  • A Funerary's veils can have their opacity altered, as long as they are visible.
  • The Partial Translucence layer can be freely edited, moved, reduced, increased, etc, as long as it still covers 30-80% of the body. Partial Translucence can be overridden by Translucence or Ghost.
  • Markings do not have to appear on the "face", but can. The "face" is considered a skin layer for the purposes of Flourish, but markings can appear on it without being on the rest of the body.

Inherent Genes

These will not show in the Rixixi's genotype, and can pass to other subspecies when breeding. They cannot pass to the same subspecies, as all members of the same subspecies inherently have it.

  • Frill (+Frll)
  • Leyline (+Ley) - Nonpassable, will not pass to other subspecies
  • Partial Translucence (+ParTluc)
  • Ray (+Ray)

Extra Genetics

These genes can pass at random, regardless of if the Rixixi actually has them or not. They can pass to any subspecies, including the Rixixi's own subspecies.

  • Ghost (+Ghost)

Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding Style

  • Method 2: Having the Leyline (+Ley) and Ghost (+Ghost) mutations on the parents in a breeding grants a 20% chance to combine and cause a Funerary to appear in a breeding without that subspecies.

DWARF PRIMAL RIXIXI

A hybrid between Primals and Domestics. Small, but still bulky.

As a Hybrid Subspecies, instead of just passing their own subspecies at a 50% chance (with the other subspecies in the breeding taking up the other 50%), Dwarf Primals have a 30% chance to pass Dwarf Primal, a 10% chance to pass Primal, and a 10% chance to pass Domestic.

Additional notes on designing Dwarf Primals

  • A Dwarf Primal's wings can have their opacity altered, as long as they are visible.
  • The Dwarf Primal does not have the Domestic's free tabby.

  • Any Color Mutation.

Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding Style

  • Alternate Method: 20% Chance of appearing in a Primal x Domestic breeding.

Item use note

  • To swap subspecies to Dwarf Primal with Supercharged Swap, a Primal or Domestic parent can be used - they do not have to be Dwarf Primal, nor do they have to be one Primal and one Domestic specifically.
  • To swap subspecies to Dwarf Primal with Supercharged Alchemy, specifically Dwarf Primal is required.

MANTICORES

Manticores are humans that are heavily body modded and genetically spliced with Rixixi. They require the Manticore Vat item to breed with Rixixi, unless the Manticore is a starter.

Additional notes on designing Manticores

  • Manticores can have their head hair and facial hair freely altered. Their body hair must match the genotype.
  • Manticores can have their mask freely altered.
  • The following alternate bases are available for Manticores: Thick | Femme

Inherent Genes

These will not show in the Rixixi's genotype, and can pass to other subspecies when breeding. They cannot pass to the same subspecies, as all members of the same subspecies inherently have it.

  • Lykoi (+Lyk)

Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding Style

  • Combo Mutation Subspecies Breeding cannot actually be performed for Manticores, as they are humans.
