RAIDS

Once per season, a massive creature will appear, and it's up to the full userbase of Chasmhome to dispatch it!

Raids take points from certain activities done over the course of the season, and at the end of the season, prizes are given out to all participants! Activities include depicting the seasonal creature, doing any hunt/combat entry, and fighting the creature in a Legendary Hunt! The more points gathered up by all participants, the better the rewards!

All methods of gaining points:

  • Depicting the creature in any loot-dropping activity: +1 point
  • Any hunting: +1 point
  • Any combat: +1 point
  • Legendary hunting against the creature (does not stack with regular hunting, does stack with depicting the creature): +3 points
  • Depicting the creature in the Couloir (therefore fighting it before it makes it to another world): +4 points
  • Bonus: Being in a faction: +1 bonus point to any entry

To submit points for a raid, EITHER go to this prompt, OR submit how many points you're contributing to a raid along with your activity! Be sure to list what points you're submitting for! Raid points are submitted per Ixi, not per piece!

CURRENT RAID

THE TROPHY

The Trophy is slow-moving and unlikely to be spurred into fighting in most scenarios. Unlike most Couloir gigafauna, it is typically content with photosynthesis and chemosynthesis. However, the Trophy is fiercely protective of its territory, and when branching out into new territory, it is quick to defend land that it sees as newly claimed.

The Trophy, when defending land that it considers Its Own, will trample recklessly and gore with its horns. Please consider that its horns are the size of many Rixixi, and take caution.

PREVIOUS RAIDS

RAIDING SEASON

The Quarantine Ring is leading another expedition into the Couloir, this time to take the fight to the gigafauna there. Perhaps if they can thin their numbers, fewer will invade the worlds that they know. Or is it a lost cause...?

All previous raid bosses are available for entry - you can find them under Previous Raids. The Warreneater and Warren's +3 Raid Point bonus for being depicted together applies here.

THIS RAID STARTS AT 10 POINTS DUE TO THE QUARANTINE RING JOINING IN! ANY ADDITIONAL POINTS WILL BE IN THE FOGSHARD THRESHHOLD! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Prizes:

0+ Points:
THE COMPANION FORM OF ANY RAID BOSSES YOU ENTER FOR!
One per raid boss, but if you enter for multiple raid bosses, you can get one of each of them!

This raid granted 234 of each Fogshard!

THE WARREN

SHOW IMAGE (Content Warning: Amalgamation, Swarming, Body Horror, Horrified Faces) HIDE IMAGE

When showing art of the Warren in the Discord server or the Chasmhome gallery, please use the content warnings "Amalgamation, Swarming, Body Horror, The Warren". It can be a possible trigger to some users and admins. Thank you!

The Warren is a prey animal and has a mind filled with terror. Its leaves small animals reaching and searching for danger at all times, the tree-like amalgamation can see in all directions at once. Despite being a towering tree - standing out in a forest due not only to its strange leaves but to its size - it can move incredibly fast, and is capable of trampling smaller beings, whether intentionally or not.
The Warren is commonly preyed on by the Warreneater, to little surprise of anyone. Portraying the Warreneater along with the Warren grants +3 Raid Points to all Ixi involved.

WARREN COMPANION

THE BOMBARDIER

The Bombardier is a dragon-like gigafauna from the Couloir capable of breathing fire. It does this by bursting peppers full of caustic chemicals that grow in its mouth, then blasting gases through the spray of chemicals. The chemical combination causes a fire that sprays forward - from the air, of course, because the Bombardier can and does fly.
Watch for massive attacks from the sky. The Bombardier is limited in how many times it can breathe fire before it needs to rest and regrow its fruits, but its flames are surrounded with noxious fumes, and must be avoided at all costs.

THE WARRENEATER

This gigafauna from the Couloir is an ambush predator, and an effective one. The Warreneater was named on Sxriix for its ability to completely take over and destroy a system of burrows, nestling in and waiting for movement above. Despite its massive size, this beast can wait days without moving as long as its facial or tail leaves are exposed to sunlight or certain chemicals - it has both the ability of photosynthesis and chemosynthesis.
When approaching, make sure to take caution of the ground itself. The creature's body shifting through it can cause tremors and falling soil, not to mention the thorns and teeth that may rise from below.

THE SNOWMAN - WINTER 2023

The Snowman is a reclusive megafauna from the Couloir. Breaching in the mountains in winter harmed it, damaging its foliage. It is sick, and it is angry, and it wants to do something about it. Its breach location granted it the nickname "snowman", and it's clear that it understands mockery.
The Snowman, despite its weaknesses, still deals out massive physical damage due to its size and huge tentacled arms. Its underbelly is armored like thick bark. Take caution when approaching, it's quite the berserker.

THIS RAID STARTS AT 10 POINTS DUE TO THE CREATURE BEING DAMAGED ON ARRIVAL! ANY ADDITIONAL POINTS WILL BE IN THE FOGSHARD THRESHHOLD! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

THE CROW - FALL 2022

The Crow is a well-known gigafauna from the Couloir. Considered an ill omen, the creature's vine-like tendrils make a crisp, thin sound in the air as it glides, blotting out the light. DO NOT LISTEN TO ITS CRY.
The Crow is skilled at mimicry and can trick its victims into following it to certain doom. It also, of course, is obscenely massive, and its thorny neck and taloned feet are formidable against many opponents.

This raid granted 23 of each Fogshard!

THE GRAVEROBBER - SUMMER 2022

The Graverobber is a megafauna from the Couloir. It is unknown how the creature got out of the Desolated World, but doing so cost it a great deal of energy. It lives in graveyards, now digging through the ground for old flesh with its massive head.
It uses its massive, misshapen head to blend in with its environment - full of graves - and defend itself against blows. Its facial tendrils are coated in thorns and extremely mobile.

This raid granted 32 of each Fogshard!

THE DEATHTRAP - SPRING 2022

The Deathtrap is a gigafauna from the Couloir. The beast escaped through a massive crack in the Leyline and Chasm, destroying its body in the process. To rebuild, it stole souls from the Leyline, taking root deep below the Necropolis to regrow and become whole again. Being half-dead, it eats not only meat but also spirits.

Much like the creatures of the Leyline, the Deathtrap lacks a face, instead having a strange, dull mockery of a sun for a head.

The Deathtrap can control and create vine tendrils to defend itself, but this costs it the energy it's using to rebuild its body.
