It's a ridiculously hot day. You've plopped yourself down in the shade in the middle of the town square and you and a smattering of strangers are watching as some young Ixi spar with elements that they've newly awakened. You wonder how they can stand to do that in this weather - is that magmatic okay? - but it seems like the Ixi next to you has something else on their mind.

"What if we just didn't ever pick an element, but got ourselves stronger anyways?" The Ixi beside you says, clutching an object to their chest. "Think we'd be stuck that way if we kept it up long enough? ...Wanna give it a try, for the hell of it?"

You say you've heard something about that, you think that it's called Null radiation? And... y'know, hell yeah, you wanna know how that works. Maybe if you try to do it it'll just stick, isn't that how regular rad works? First things first, though, what's that thing they have?

"It's my lucky charm." The young Ixi snorts, holding it tighter. "You think you're luckier?"

You think you can prove it.

"It's a bet."

PROMPTS

Rad Rebels Chapter 1 is somewhat uncommon as far as Story Mode goes in that it only has one prompt, but it can be interpreted in many ways.

Draw your Rixixi practicing Null radiation. Null radiation can be interpreted as any form of magic that doesn't involve elemental abilities - use your imagination! Some quick ideas include telekinesis, forcefields, reality-warping, and so on. They can be sparring with the other Ixi mentioned in the prompt, showing off, learning about methods used, or really just about anything! Have fun!

Illustrations should be fully colored with at least a somewhat detailed background. Literature should be 800+ words.

  • 4 Ixi at maximum per image (other ixi can appear for Training Mode EXP, but cannot be submitted for the story mode chapter in that piece.)
