Chapter 4

The world of ice and stone fades away behind you as you enter the Galactic ringleaders' spacecraft repair station in the southern mountain range, the surrounding area already starting to warm as the doors shut behind you. The last dusting of snow flutters to the metallic tiles on the floor, melting as it touches down.

"VIP at the front door!" You can hear Loyal's voice over the loudspeaker, looks like the Atmosphere ring already made it here before you. "Paging Team Danger Fang, your VIP is at the front door!"

You'd received an invitation from a collaborative effort from the Galactic and Atmosphere rings - a request to map out a portion of space itself. If you were to accept the the task - and come on, it'd be too exciting not to, wouldn't it? - your next step would be to come down here, to the repair station, to pick out one of the refurbished FTL ships to utilize. You could bring or recruit some allies to get a crew together if needed as well, the 'rings would pitch in if needed here.

There's a bit of a crowd in the hangar - you're sure you weren't the only qualified Ixi that received the offer - and soon, you see Aulik stepping out from the crowd.

"Hello," Aulik's high voice rings out, "I see you're here for a ship. We've got quite a few that've had quality repair jobs done recently, and members of our ring are ready to come along and assist on your trip to perform needed repairs on the go."

You follow Aulik as they show you a series of faster-than-light equipped starships, some modeled after human rockets, some more modern, bulky, or abstract, an unexpected few even look like beasts.

"We're prepared to offer anything you need, and if you require assistance at any time during your journey, send out a communications line and we'll be there as quickly as possible. We only need a scout, we do not want you hurt at all." Aulik nods, a bit of worry crossing their face as they seem to spontaneously remember that crossing the void of space can prove dangerous even in the best conditions. They smile comfortingly, continuing. "If that is understood... are you ready for a trip?"

Prompts

Phone Home is a very open-ended single prompt! Draw or write about your Ixi exploring space, preferably on a spacecraft. The only requirement is that they must encounter some problem or difficulty, whether it be an external issue (such as asteroids, space pirates, another planet's atmosphere) or internal (argument with crew, hardware failure on ship, medical condition).

Pick 1 out of the following 4 and illustrate or write about it. Illustrations should be fully colored with at least a somewhat detailed background. Literature should be 800+ words. The NPC you respond to will follow up with a question, to which a second piece must be made in response to. (Fullbody, color, and background OR 600+ words) Upon completion of the second piece, this chapter will be complete!

If you can't come up with a response to the prompt you're provided, you may ask for a new one - also, do know that you don't have to base your entire response around it so long as you address the prompt somehow. We'll probably appreciate creative interpretations!

  • 4 Ixi at maximum per image (other ixi can appear for Training Mode EXP, but cannot be submitted for the story mode chapter in that piece.)
  • All Ixi pictured must be partaking in the same chapter. Different prompts can be used for the different Ixi, however.
  • Please submit separate prompts for each Ixi!
