Of all Aeli locations affected by the early Phoenix Incident, none were so disproportionately damaged as Lumina. The damage to the city was nowhere near as extensive as the leyline break that leveled Auli'kuris, but experts still suggest that the damage to Lumina was ley-related - simply on a smaller scale.
When the Kyaine of Auli'Kuris left the base of the mountain, a shift in ley energy occured - leyline power that had been stifled for thousands of years had become available again all at once. As this was concentrated into one location rather than across all of Nskanetis, this quickly became catastrophic for the affected location, utterly decimating the mountain of Auli'Kuris.
The same energy that caused this may have been harnessed by an omnipotent entity to backfire on Lumina - for what reason, we cannot say. What we do know is that on the same day that the mountain turned to dust, the shore beneath Lumina crumbled, and the city fell into the sea. Several Kyaine bodies were found at the city limits, slumped over new sheer cliffs that led into the water - this implies that they never made it to the city.
Despite the originally shallow shores around Lumina, not a single building can be seen breaking the surface of the water. Whether they broke down beneath the waves or something occured to deepen the depths has not yet been confirmed. Local superstition has been interfering with the investigation into the phenomenon - mainly claims of a god buried beneath the rubble. Locals from neighboring towns have been sighted tossing live bait into the water to 'lure her out'.
Investigations are still under way into both the crater left behind from Auli'kuris and the tomb of Lumina left behind in the sea.
